English synopsis:
This is the story of the rise, fall and return of black rhino to the wilds of Gonarezhou. Gonarezhou National Park, Zimbabwe has twice lost its black rhino population due to human intervention. In 2021, black rhino returned to the wilds of Gonarezhou. This is a story about hope, about the relationship between people and wilderness and about evaluating the worth of a wild landscape.

English biography:
Buck O’Donoghue and Joanna Craig are Zimbabwean documentary filmmakers that together make up Bad Rabbit Studio. Passionate about championing the African continent’s wild and rural landscapes and its custodians, the pair seek to bring to the fore the relationships between people, wildlife and place using film, photography and writing. Buck and Jo are based in Harare, Zimbabwe. Gonarezhou, The Return of the Rhino is their first film.
