English synopsis: Huge volcanos, with burning ash clouds tumbling down the side, bubbling lava lakes and fireworks of sprinkling lava lighting up the night sky… Instead of travelling from Hungary to faraway places to see these spectacles, let’s use our imagination to travel back in time about 15 million years. Immediately, we are standing on a paradise island in the shallow subtropical sea, with a 1000-meter tall volcano towering above the lush green vegetation: the Börzsöny, at its prime.

English biography: Szabolcs Mosonyi is a Hungarian director and cinematographer. He received his university degree as a teacher of biology and geography, and his interest in nature and to share this knowledge was shown at the beginning. Since 2002, he made more than 25 films, 3 series, all -but one- about the geology and wildlife of the Carpathian Basin. In his work he shows certain species in their ecological collections. His film could be seen on many TV channels of Europe, USA and Asia and Hungarian cinemas.
